Augmented is a Very Interesting Movie

The movie “Augmented” is about Hugh Herr, who was really passionate about rock climbing and lost his limbs because of a fall. He was so passionate about rock climbing so he made artificial limbs to rock climb again. Then he saw the opportunity of his work so he made more and more limbs. Then Herr came up with the idea of connecting people's brains to their feet again. The problem with artificial limbs was that you can not feel the foot and you will not be able to actually move it with your own mind. So Herr thought of connecting the brain to the feet again, so he did.

Herr, the man who is making the technology, is not hopeful. If you are pessimistic  then it will never happen. I can just see from his face that he was really scared. He gave me a really bad feeling.

A lot of people in the world watch social media, and also there are a lot of people who need amputated legs. So if all of those people get amputated legs and show it off on social media then there will be a lot of issues. One problem might be that getting an amputated leg is going to be the new fashion. But if people don’t need amputated legs chop of their feet and get one then the company might run out of them so the people who actually need it might now be able to have one. It might not just be with big body parts.

Maybe in the future when technology gets more and more advanced there will be an ear or hearing enhancement. Also eye enhancement might be available.A lot of people in the world have eye problems. If they don’t catch it in time then they will most likely go blind or worse.

Not everyone should get an amputated limb because people who are actually in need of amputated limbs will not have one if the company runs out of them. Also there should be a special mechanic to show if you really need an amputated limb or not.

People in the world are suffering because of really bad injuries so we should help those people and take care of them. In conclusion this documentary will make you think a lot about people who are enhanced and how they are affected by it.

  1. Whoa, I had never heard of this documentary. I'm really intrigued. I've always fantasized about enhancing my body to be stronger and faster, but maybe I should let amputated people get enhanced first!
